I’m obsessing over the Sophia Wesbter lace up perspex boots with silver toe caps! I always stop myself from buying stuff like that. Don’t get me wrong- I’m just worried I’ll never be able to take them off.
Just yesterday I posted a “metallics” trend report on #NYFW, and then Proenza Schouler showed up and blew out of the park. I have no words for how gorgeous these pleated looks are! The skirts moved lightly and gracefully, complimented by crop tops which added to the playfulness of the ensemble. According to WWD, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough’s “worked under the influence of West Coast midcentury furniture designers and Arte Povera, the late Sixties movement based on simplicity and nature — two defining principles of this collection, particularly in the daywear. With a palette skewed earthy in shades of cream, navy, clay and yellow, Hernandez and McCollough’s opening silhouettes combined lean structure with rich materials (such as suede and crepe) that moved gracefully.” On a personal note, I found this collection to be mesmerizing. Especially these ensembles… Which were in fact the highlight of the show. The entire collection is just plain perfect.
