Nadine Shami is a young and talented Jordanian jewelry designer, whose career involved different areas of design. She found her true passion cradled amongst diamonds, coloured stones and gold. Being a design student in London has allowed her to be exposed to rigorous academic curricula as well as having a diverse outlook onto the latest fashion and trends. Her love for jewelry not only is inspired from her unique sense of fashion, but is a passion-driven talent that she has acquired from a family of jewelers, ever since her late grandfather established one of Jordan’s most intricate fine jewelry salons – Shawkat Sami Fine Jewelry.
Nadine Shami Fine Jewelry is being introduced by a collection of exclusively-tailored pieces together named the Flora Collection.
“A little piece of my soul lies in each piece,” says Nadine (pictured above) of her debut collection.
I think the collection is absolutely beautiful. It’s feminine and so intricately detailed. The designs are contemporary in shape yet very classically elegant in design. The bold colours make the collection young and fresh: perfect for stepping into Spring! Nadine herself is a gorgeous young lady with a very bright future, she’s definitely on our list of designers to watch out for in 2013.
Well I’m not sure if there’s really a point to this post because winter is almost over and summer is just around the corner. But what do you think of the oversized coat trend that was all the rage at #MFW? The more I look at this picture the more it grows on me. We love the wide brim hat too. It’s in the definitely in the “Boyfriend” category; Boyfriend jeans, Boyfriend Watch.. And now- The boyfriend coat.

I don’t know about the rest of you.. But when I get into my car, my bag always goes on the passenger seat next to me. I don’t place it on the floor in the back, or on the back seats; for practical reasons obviously. Most bags sit there quietly resting and enjoy the ride, but the Lady Dior.. Oh my! It’s one hell of a feisty lady I’ll tell you that. It takes the cake for being the least passenger seat friendly bag. With every stop, no matter how gentle, it cant help but tip itself over. I’ve come to the conclusion that although the bag has a pretty stable rectangular base, it is “top heavy.”
Coming in second place is the Melrose Avenue top handle bag by Louis Vuitton. Please don’t get me started. I love you dearly Christian, and Louis too, but taking you out for drives is such a nuisance!
Dare to step into spring in these statement Altuzarra embellished leather cage sandals. The way to go? During the show we saw these heels being worked military style, but I suggest you keep it simple on top in silk shorts and a neutral coloured blouse.
How amazing is this leather-trimmed tiger-print nylon backpack by Kenzo? It’s the perfect spring accessory! And we’ve been just head over heels for back packs lately. The price tag is pretty reasonable too considering its statement-making allure. (£377)
British cotemporary artist Tracey Emin will light up 15 billboards with works from her project “I promise to love you,” in Times Square every night at 11:57 for the rest of the month. The works consist of different words and phrases in Emin’s handwriting made of neon lights.
What are friends for? This exquisite little film directed by Ava DuVernay follows the life of a woman, played by Gabrielle Union, who gets by with a little help from her friends.
“In the film, characters arrive at the door of a friend in need, bringing something of themselves,” said DuVernay ,“Eventually, we witness our heroine ready to walk through the door on her own. The door in the film represents a pathway to who we are.”
The film is the 5th installment in Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales series, which pays homage to the talented women of the silver-screen. We’re in awe of the Miu Miu fashions featured in the films, watch the video above and take a look for yourselves.
“People observe the colors of a day only at its beginnings and its ends, but to me it’s quite clear that a day merges through a multitude of shades and intonations, with each passing moment. A single hour can consist of thousands of different colors. Waxy yellows, cloud-spat blues. Murky darknesses. In my line of work, I make it a point to notice them.”
I love these black Alexander Wang Mackenzie suede and leather ankle boots. Everything about them is just so cool. Keep your look sleek with a deconstructed outfit and you should be good to go. Think clean cut and straight.
It’s been done and it’s over I get it. But I’ve been so obsessed with pink hair lately, although I know the biggest problem in dying it is maintaing the colour. So I’m not too sure if it’s worth all the hassle. What do you think?
