When was your label established and how did the idea come about?

It was the time for me to move on, on my own! The idea of handbags started in early 2008 between myself and a partner of mine. We created a handbag line called love and label. After going through many trials and errors, I decided to continue on my own and took the whole brand to a higher level and kept it under my name.

Tell us a little bit about your latest collection.
I’m presenting my FW2012 collection, where colors vary from cold pink to warm navy blue. I use textured and plain calf leather. The high-impact accessories add up all the detail emphasizing on the designer’s inspiration of mixing chains and braids.

How would you describe your own personal style?
No matter how rapid fashion changes, I’ll always have that touch of mine, I go to extremes! I wear contemporary fashion and I collect vintage jewellery. I fancy romantic flowy dresses although structured pieces always grab my attention.

Which bag is the ‘IT’ Farah Asmar bag for the summer?
The Bree tote and the Silvia shoulder bag are our best sellers. But you can find wonderful bags in our Winter 2012 collection too.

What do you do when you’re not sketching and designing?
I have no clue what I’d be if I wasn’t a designer, probably a chef! If I’m not sketching I’m usually brainstorming and researching!

What’s your favourite city and why?
nywhere I can walk barefoot by the beach. But since I produce my work in Istanbul, I find it very inspiring. It’s so rich and diverse!

Chloe Jade Green

I love Chloe Jade Green’s shoe collection which was launched back in May. The elegant designs contrast beautifully with Gothic opulence. Look out for her mega high platform heels and her signature “Green” sole. What’s really cute too, is that Chloe (daughter of TopShop mogul Sir Phillip Green) personally named every pair of shoes after members of her family, close friends and special people in her life. Awwww!
